Introducing the proposed InnerTuba Tour from Midwest to NorthWest USA…. A steady stream of generous folks are coming forward in support of this venture. As at March ’24, a minimum of around $5,000 is sought; $9,000 would secure a much more extensive and impressive tour… You too can donate to help turn the tour from an idea to a reality.

First, please read on ….

Bemidji, Minnesota, USA. The endpoint of the InnerTuba Mississippi River Tourr ’23 and the proposed startpoint for touring again.

Many will know that I want to return to Minnesota, USA. Funds allowing, I’ll undertake a circular performance tour within the state, then pedal off to the NorthWest Pacific Coast.

Leaving Minnesota, the journey visits North Dakota, Montana, Idaho and Washington States. Here are a few statistics about the journey West….

Picking up The Adventure Cycling Association Northern Tier Route in Bemidji (near Walker) Minnesota, then, heading to the coastal town of Anacortes, Washinton State…..

Anacortes, Washington State, NorthWest USA

– The total distance, without any side trips is 1955 miles. Let’s call it 2,000.

Bemidji is about 30 miles from Walker, direction Fargo on the map above.

– Averaging 30 miles per day that would take 67 concecutive days. Add to that 33 non travel days – set aside for performances and media opportunities – the tour becomes 100 days. This follows the successful model of The InnerTuba Mississippi River Tour ’23

– The journey goes from sea level to a high of 5,575 feet, at Sherman Pass, Washington State.

– The total number of feet climbed over the 2,000 miles is 90,830. Whilst that’s more than 3 times the height of Everest, you do get to wizz down hill quite a bit too ! Here are some Adventure Cycling Association elevation statistics for the entire journey – which they divide into 5 sections:

– The weather is unlikely to be as stiflingly hot and humid as in the Deep South and Midwest Summer this year. very good !

Sherman Pass, Washington State. The highest point of the journey, at 5,575 feet above sea level.

For this ambitious journey to get the green light, a minimum $5,000 need be raised – please consider what support you can offer !
