InnerTuba in the newspapers, on the radio, and appearing on TV.

Without doubt one of the most enjoyable aspects of InnerTuba touring over the years has been engaging with newspaper, radio and TV professionals. I have found them to be welcoming, interested and interesting people who are keen to apply their journalistic skills to InnerTuba. Thank you all, past and future reporters!
I guess the reason for our happy relationship is this. Time and again InnerTuba rolls into town bringing with it interesting, unusual and upbeat good news stories!

Perhaps my most memorable press encounter ever was in Port Gibson, Mississippi, USA in 2023. The tables were turned – I reported to InnerTuba followers about the local newspaper, in advance of it reporting to its readers about InnerTuba…
“Well, walking into the office of the Port Gibson Mississippi’s local newspaper – The Port Gibson Reveille – is stepping back in time , in the nicest possible way.
Owner Emma Crisler heads up a team of 3, putting out the 1300 circulation weekly. She reckons the paper is one of the very last remaining independently owned newspapers in the USA.
Emma scouts for and reports, Marjorie sets out the layout and Patricia does the typing.
Emma had the choice when her husband sadly died in 1997 – give up her teaching and social work jobs to keep the paper going – or let it go out of print.
I think she did the right thing – the Port Gibson Reveille is a beautiful living piece of history. Long may it roll off the press!” InnerTuba FaceBook post, 16 May 2023.

This is quoted from an InnerTuba facebook post of 26th August ’23. It tells a story…..
“Wow – following my detour to get my gears fixed, life on the road got a bit hot. Very hot and very humid. So much so I had to pace myself and get out of the sun early to avoid heatstroke…
I did stay on schedule, just, and managed to record an interview with Cathy Wurzer of Minnesota Public Radio, USA. It’ll be broadcast on 30th August ’23”.

Here’s a radio interview, recorded towards the end of May ’23, with freelance broadcast and print journalist Randy Bell. The feature was broadcast by several radio stations in and around the Kosciusko, Mississippi, USA area, in advance of InnerTuba’s performance in the town’s library.
Randy is a true media pro, his editing skills shine through. Thank you, Randy!
This is a delightful piece created by Lakeland PBS TV. It was shot in Bemidji, and broadcast through Northern Minnesota, USA during the last week of the InnerTuba Mississippi River Tour ’23. It was a fitting end to the journey of a lifetime.
